Experts call for action on indoor air quality (IAQ) standards at an inaugural summit. According to the attendees at the recent co-hosted “Stanford Forum on Sustainable and Healthy Buildings with a Focus on Indoor Air Quality” held at Sandford University’s Faculty of Medicine from 31 March to 1 April 2025, clean and well-ventilated indoor air should be considered as essential to public health as clean water. After the forum, participants formed working groups tasked with drafting IAQ performance standards, launching pilot projects, publishing commentary and coordinating outreach with policymakers and industry leaders.
