Following a conference held in the Senate of the Republic of Poland on air quality in educational institutions in September 2024, co-organized by Patient Europe, a group of Polish specialists was formed and in March 2025, sent a letter on this important topic to the presidential candidates of the Republic of Poland.

“We want the Polish presidential candidates to speak clearly on this issue, as it is essential to change the regulations on air monitoring in schools and kindergartens, as well as regulations on adequate ventilation. We know that there successive seasons of large numbers of infections, and we also know that we can prevent it; we just need active action and support from the government,” commented the letter’s signatory, Distinguished Professor Lidia Morawska, Thrive’s Centre Director, recognized in recent years as one of the 100 most influential people in the scientific world.

We encourage other professionals, scientists, and doctors to join this call so that the issue of our children’s fundamental right to clean air becomes a key part of the public and political debate. If anyone would like their signature to appear below the letter, please write to coordinator Zofia Sobczak about this matter: [email protected]
